New Organic Bed Mattresses

We are excited to offer organic bed mattresses by Savvy Rest. Made in the US with stacked layers of pure natural latex rubber, they feature a removable casing made from organic cotton fabric quilted to organic wool. The latex and wool are naturally resistant to dust mites, and the wool is a perfect thermal regulator, keeping you comfortable year round. Specifically made to be used on a slatted platform frame, these mattresses are a perfect match to our hardwood bed frames.



The immediate appeal to us is that each layer of latex is available in three different densities and can be stacked in any order. Like a soft mattress? Order two layers of soft latex stacked on a medium layer. Or a firm mattress? Stack two firms on a medium. If that's too firm, just unzip the casing and reshuffle the layers with the medium on top. Queen and King sizes are made with layers split down the middle, so each sleeper can customize his/her own side.

Latex is a very stable material over time, so you can rest assured that the feel of the mattress won't change or degrade over time. In fact, Savvy Rest backs each mattress with a 20 year limited warranty. A 90 day exchange program allows you to exchange a layer of latex for a different density, if you find you prefer a different feel.

New Locations for Cincinnati and Pittsburgh

Welcome to the Norka Futon blog. Here we hope to keep you informed of new products, news and events at our stores.

Spring has been a busy time in Cincinnati as we moved two stores (Ludlow Ave. and Edwards Rd.) into an entirely new location at 3083 Madison Road in Oakley. Our new store offers a much more accessible showroom, plenty of natural light, and easier loading and unloading. It is conveniently located across from the Fresh Market and CVS Pharmacy. Bring the kids for fantastic ice cream at Aglamesis', great toys at King Arthur's Court, clothing at The Spotted Goose, and wonderful children's books (and great coffee!) at Blue Manatee just up the street. There is plenty of parking on Madison Road, as well as just around the corner by the library.

Our Pittsburgh store has also moved, though in a much less dramatic fashion, to 5854 Forbes Avenue, only two spaces down from our previous location. We are proud to be able to maintain our commitment to the Squirrel Hill neighborhood, while continuing to serve the greater Pittsburgh area. Stop in and visit our newly-expanded showroom.

Website Updates

Some of you have also noticed that we are now offering specials listed only on the Norka Futon website. Just click on the Specials and Coupons link accessible from the homepage. This lists all of the monthly sale items in a one-page, printable coupon format. We do ask that you bring the coupons with you to the store. We've had a great response to these specials and plan to change them monthly, so check back often to see what is currently on sale.
